Where to eat
Just yards away from Rosa Joss Bay is the delicious Staple Store, serving fresh bread, pastries, coffee and light lunch options, it’s highly recommended and enjoyed by all who come to stay. Take a short drive down to the sea front for a traditional pub meal at Captain Digby, great for families with children as they can let off steam in the pubs indoor soft play area.
In Broadstairs, families can enjoy traditional fish and chips from a seafront eatery, while those looking for a restaurant with more refinery, you can try Kebbells seafood bar and restaurant. For dessert you should head to the famous Morelli's, an abundance of ice cream flavours to choose from and a decor which hasn’t changed from the 1950’s. For something slightly different, Albarino on Albion Street serves traditional tapas food and has been mentioned in the Good Food guide 2023, along with Posillipo, an authentic family run Italian restaurant, a favourite of ours.
Margate boasts quirky cafes and vibrant street food stalls, perfect for a casual lunch or coffee break. It also hosts Michelin Guide recommended, Sargasso, a small wine bar with food, consisting of counter seating and high window tables, nestled against the sea wall of Margate’s harbour arm. Away from the seafront, is Mori Mori, an eatery that features Japanese inspired ramen and izakaya snacks and plates - think bao buns, dumplings and broths, onigiri and salads.
A favourite of ours to visit, purely for its views whilst dining, is Finbars, situated in West Bay, delicious food whilst the sun goes down.
If you’re visiting Westgate-on-Sea, then a trip to Quince is highly recommended, a fusion of British and Spanish heritage makes this bistro feel relaxed and homely.
